Say hello!

Emotive wins Mumbrella Award for Purpose and Impact for Deep Rising’s Don’t Mine What’s Mine.

Another award. Same unfinished fight.

Emotive has won the 2026 Mumbrella Award for Purpose and Impact for Don’t Mine What’s Mine, the global impact campaign created for Deep Rising to help stop deep-sea mining before it starts.

The win completes an extraordinary local clean sweep for the pro bono campaign, following recognition at the B&T Awards, AdNews Agency of the Year Awards and Cairns Crocodile Awards.

Don’t Mine What’s Mine was created to make an environmental threat few people know about impossible to ignore. The campaign invited people around the world to claim their own square kilometre of the Pacific Ocean seabed, building a global community opposed to its commercial exploitation.

The stakes continue to rise. Commercial deep-sea mining has not yet been approved by the International Seabed Authority, but the rules that could move the industry from exploration to exploitation remain under negotiation.

Developed by independent creative agency Emotive and brought to life through Emotive Productions, the campaign brought strategy, creative, design, production and earned thinking together from the outset. It is a powerful example of Emotive’s belief in creating ideas that change how people feel, and using that feeling to move people to act.

The campaign has been delivered pro bono over two years, led creatively by Paul Sharp and in close partnership with Laura Clarke and the Deep Rising team.

We are incredibly proud of the recognition. But the result that matters most remains unchanged: deep-sea mining never begins.
